Gentlemen:

If the vandelism is just starting, nip it in the bud. We had to hire security guards to help slow this. This well organized and feed small group has chained themselves to trees and actually cut good green tree's across the road to keep our guy's out for the day. Of course the cop's protect them. It will only get worse.

We had a tragic incident approx. 6 months ago when about 14 total, protestor's feel a tree and chained 9 to it. Three were sitting out on the top, hanging below the road, holding hands.

The first crew up in the crummy came around the blind corner in the dark and without warning they were on top of them. The side rod hit the brakes hard, everyone else was asleep but him. One of thems Stanley's flew forward off the seat and wedged between the driver's leg and the hump, jamming the throttle wide open. Those big diesel's don't stop just because you put the brakes on.

Two were crittically injured, another slightly and three were punched dead center with the front of the Ford diesel. Two were completely severed in atleast two pieces and the third, well, his injuries were alot worse. Of course, the logger was at fault for not being aware of this type of possible demonstrations on this road. "Earth First" or whoever (we have several of these groups) (magot's), was completely cleared of any wrong doing (Freedom of Speech). The whole show was shut down and probably will be never be reopened. Contractor went broke.

Have friends for 100 miles North and South and they have heard nothing of this useless lose of life, never will. These people are supported/covered/feed by lawyers hired by rich "Enviormentalist's" for just this type of highly published events. This one backfired on them. "Nobody, Nobody" on the West Coast heard a word of this incident, other than the contractor's that lost a life's investment. I can't believe it, but it seems they own the news media also.

Believe me, nip it in the bud.

They've done stuff like that up here too. Never had any major injuries or deaths, but I did get a couple hand fulls of hair once Other than that one incident we seem to be left alone up here on Northern Vancouver Island, but they are coming, of that you can be sure. The new tactic is to rename target land or bodies of water into some new catchy name that sounds like it should be a park or some native heritage site. "The Great Bear Rainforest" was one of many of these. I have yet to find a map or any other thing indicating a Great Bear Rainforest prior to the 1990s. Another one is the whale sanctuary in the antarctic where the "Whale Wars" show is taped. They are using technology to their advantage, there is nothing like propaganda to fight propaganda.

I can't remember the name of the movie, but it had Henry Fonda in it. It had to do with a family logging outfit, working against unionized logging. Well anyway, their logging trucks and equipment were burned, and destroyed.
The son walked into the union office with a chain saw, and cut the desk in half, and said something to the effect that it wasn't a truck, but it would have to do.
Probably, someone that had previously worked for the company burned the boom truck, to get even for something that happened, or he was fired for doing something, and took it out on the truck. Bruce.

I dont know about that. It was in a field off of the road next to a very low class trailer park. I think we have narrowed it down to a neighborhood. The higher ups in the company arent too worried about it anymore. We bought a tri axle dump truck and we are going to take the bed off and mount the boom on to the truck. It should be a perfect fit.

that movie would be, "Sometimes a Great Notion" came out in 71 I think.

We had some trouble last year, probably just partying local kids out for kicks.
nothing burned but stole a battery, took our backhoe and dumped dirt on
the skidder, beat the horns of the log truck, stole a few chains or something.
We stayed out there the next weekend hoping to catch the hoodlums.

Now reading this thread, I'm thinking of a small business venture providing security/surveillance set ups and monitoring for local loggers.
